Procedure Documnetation for Maintenance of 25kV TPS Asset
110/25kV Traction Power Supply for CRR
Cross River Rail Project, Brisbane, QLD
AECOM Australia
Senior Project Engineering, 2010
Achievement:
Conceptual study and analysis for 110/25kV traction power substaions and TSCs have been conducted to figure out types, locations, sizes and connections of the traction power supply expansion for early stage of the cross river rail project in Brisbane CBD. After estimating the additional power requirement, the real challenge was how to integrate that extra power required into the existing network among the congested residential areas and how to find the best way and route for connections to the OHL.
Eagle Down Coal Mine, Bowen Basin, QLD
AECOM Australia
Senior Project Engineering, 2010
Achievement:
Provisional design for Overhead Catenary System (Simple Catenary according to Mark IIIB standard) and its traction power was carried out for 8km balloon loop coal mine load out facility. In fact, it is considered as a siding of the existing QR heavy freight 50kV electrified railways. The package was prepared for the owner's tendering documents to form a D&C contract technical requirement.
Overhead Lines and 50kV Traction Power for Coal Mine Balloon Loop
Adelaide Metro Electrification, Adelaide, SA
Siemens Mobility Australia
Senior Project Engineering, 2011
Achievement:
Preliminary design was carried out to connect 25kV traction feeders to the dedicated neutral section of the overhead line. Customer requirements, relevant standards, utility regulations, local council regulations, local terrain constrains were considered to arrange an efficient cabling and connection configuration. It was in total of six 66/25kV traction substations and dedicated neutral section of each was a few hundred meters up to a kilometer far away.
AC 25kV TPS Feeders Connection to OHL
Gold Coast Light Rail, Gold Coast, QLD
Bombardier Transportation Australia
Project Lead Engineering, 2012 - 2013
Achievements:
In order to figure out the traction network and equipment configuration, specifications and sizing, some network and field studies for 750VDC traction power supply have been conducted. They included Power Study,Load Flow Analysis, Protection (Short Circuit) Study and Insulation Coordination, all integrated with the customer requirements. Additionally, a Traction Power Quality assessment based on IEC61000 was conducted to prove the network compliance with the utility.
750VDC Traction Power Supply System
Prefabricated 1.5MW 750VDC Traction Power Substations
Gold Coast Light Rail, Gold Coast, QLD
Bombardier Transportation Australia
Project Lead Engineering, 2012 - 2013
Achievements:
Seven prefabricated 1.5 MW 750VDC traction power substations (TPS) with diode rectifier and dry type 11/0.585 kV transformer have been successfully designed, constructed, tested, installed and commissioned on site. They are retrofit with AGS (Automatic Grounding Switch) and SCM (Stray Current Monitoring). Each TPS is fed by one 11kV feeder from Energex operated by an RMU (Ring Main Unit).
25kV mass transit Electrified Railways, Perth, WA
Public Transport Authority
OHL&TPS Engineer, 2009 - 2010
Achievement:
Asset management and maintenance of expensive asset of the electrified railways need a series of non stop efforts of a great dedicated team of professionals. Maintenance procedure for WA's several traction power substations and TSCs has been revised to be updated and reflect all necessary inspections and tests. Tests like Frequency Analysis for traction transformers have been initiated to strengthen the preventive maintenance and inspections activities.
